Unique Selling Proposition & High Value Internet Marketing
Having a product of outstanding value is a good way to form your unique
selling proposition - if you have more than one point that differentiates
your business from the competition, then you might have several USPs.
There are millions of websites on the internet, but very few of them enjoy
any internet marketing success. Why is this so? Because most websites are
put together as free standing exercises without any thought to their place
in a unique selling proposition and no real planning as to how they might
achieve worthwhile value. In order for advertising to get through the clutter
it had to repeat a single selling message - customers can only remember
one idea for a given product.
Internet marketing is definitely not an excuse for elaborate art works and
intricate designer workouts (this is marketing for the benefit of the web
designer, but has nothing to do with marketing the site owner's business
(especially an ecommerce enabled one) is part of a marketing exercise.
Always the first step in effective web page design is understanding how it
will fit into the overall ecommerce marketing plan. Doesn't really matter
what the site is about - it will be trying to offer somebody something
they want.
